In Ghostwire: Tokyo, you'll need to absorb souls with the help of Katashiro, and then trade these souls in exchange for experience and money with other players. However, you only have a limited number of Katashiro, so you'll need to acquire more in order to accommodate more souls.

- After you've cleared up your first shrine, you'll be given a small number of Katashiro, but they'll go quickly. You can empty them at a telephone booth, but if you want to increase the amount of soul storage space available to you, you can visit any of the stores on the map. From there, you can purchase more Katashiro from the proprietors of the cat shops.
More can be expensive, with one item costing $3,000, so don't go overboard when you're just starting off. With the additional money you get via side quests and other means, you may really stock up on supplies.
You are not need to have more Katashiro in order to proceed, although having more is more convenient because you will not have to stop at telephone booths as frequently.
